Students keep learning come rain or shine.

Earlier this week, Banner Plant donated a submersible pump to The Skills Village in Barnsley

The aim of the Skills Village is to develop the skills of local individuals helping them to understand the opportunities available within the construction industry and providing employment opportunities for them after they finish their course.

Heavy rain has been causing large amounts of surface water to collect on site which was impending the students training. The water was creating a health and safety risk, especially in freezing conditions.

Banner Plant currently supplies the site cabins at The Skills Village and saw an opportunity to help by supplying the pump to clear the excess water. The Pump, appropriately called a Puddlepal, sucks up water to a depth of 1mm via an internal hose. Now, within just a few minutes, the site can be back in action after a heavy downpour. This means that the students will be able to work outdoors in all weathers.

We are delighted to be able to help out and enable the youngsters to get the most out of their training opportunities here at the skills village
